The Nissan Primastar Van at a glance

The van man with knowledge of the industry might be wondering what we’re on about talking about the Nissan Primastar. Originally launched in 2002, the light commercial van has since been removed from the market, and replaced by the NV300 in 2014. So is it not gone forever? That was the case… until 2022.

Now the Nissan Primastar Van is back and better than ever, as a medium size van with a range of variants designed to match businesses’ precise needs. Whether you need to prioritise passengers or cargo, the Nissan Primastar can help you out. Options include removal and fold down seats, so you can easily switch between carrying passengers and cargo.

Here at Van Sales UK, we have been very excited about the next generation of the Nissan Primastar, so have put together a guide to the best features and what to expect when you purchase a new Nissan Primastar Van.

Engines and Spec

Nissan has put a focus on driver assistance with the new model of Primastar, including options for automatic high beams, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. The predecessor to the Primastar, the NV300, was recently updated with some tweaks, which have carried into the new Primastar. This includes a new front bumper, slimmer headlights that are more energy efficient and a new radiator grille.

It also provides power and performance with every drive. The regenerative braking and stop-start make the most of the fuel, and an eco mode optimises fuel economy even furthe. The Primastar comes with power ratings from between 110 to 170 hp and is available as both a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.

Its modular design enables the Nissan Primastar to be practical for any job. The panel van configuration offers space and manoeuvrability in urban settings while the crew van is ideal as a flexible working solution with space for both your crew and cargo. The combi van has flexible passenger/load space combinations, with removable seats and sliding doors for convenient loading.

The Primastar panel van is available in 4 distinct trims. The Visia is the basic model, offering a variety of built-in features. The Acenta adds to all these features with a variety of extras, followed by the Tekna adding even more. The ultimate Primastar is the Tekna+, adding blind spot detection, auto high beam headlights, keyless entry, forward emergency braking and much more.

Interior

Inside, the dashboard has been completely updated, with a new steering wheel design and an infotainment system. The NissanConnect display combines navigation, entertainment and information to assist you. Enhanced smartphone integration and voice recognition make it easier than ever to use.

This system can provide you with optional full park assist sensors, as well as an optional rear-view camera To improve visibility for drivers in busy areas, the passenger sun visor is equipped with a wide-view mirror. The cab is designed to be used as a mobile office, featuring an optional foldable passenger seat and up to 90 litres of storage space.

It’s available with 1 or 2 sliding side doors to help with loading, as well as 18 load-securing rings to help keep things secure while driving. You can expect up to 8.6M³ of cargo to fit inside. It’s easy to load a Europallet through the wide-opening twin rear doors or the side doors, helping kerbside deliveries go a lot smoother. It even has a bulkhead flap to allow extra-long objects into the van.
