A rapidly expanding highways surfacing firm in Kent have chosen Vanaways as their new vehicles partner as it looks to build on impressive growth over the next decade.

Trinity Surfacing was founded in February 2018 and has since reached turnover £16.8m in its latest financial year, ending last July, with staff numbers growing to 70.

The company is targeting 20 to 30 per cent growth year-on-year for the next 10 years, through a mixture of UK-wide contracts with commercial developers and highway works with local authorities.

To support its growth Trinity has chosen Bristol-based Vanaways as its supplier of vans going forward, starting with one new welfare vehicle – a Fiat Ducato 2.2 Multijet 140 – and a Ford Transit Connect L2, and likely to run to a further six to ten vehicles over the next year.

“As we approach our sixth anniversary, the decision to acquire new vehicles is emblematic of both a strategic growth trajectory and a proactive approach to fleet management. Our new acquisitions represent a blend of fleet modernisation, operational efficiency and the proactive anticipation of customer demands, all in line with our overarching mission to excel in the realm of asphalt surfacing and civil solutions.” said Ben Bridges, director at Trinity Surfacing.

“We’re excited to announce Vanaways as our new partner in our journey towards operational excellence. The collaboration is already excellent, with efficient ordering, a user-friendly platform and knowledgeable staff. We have tight timelines, but Vanaways have gone above and beyond expectations to expedite the process, minimising any potential disruptions to our operations.”

“We’re continually investing in our fleet, including changing our vans which aren’t ULEZ compliant, so we’ll be speaking to Vanaways much more in future. All of us at Trinity Surfacing are looking forward to continuing our successful relationship with Vanaways as we strive for excellence in our operations at Trinity Surfacing.”

Vanaways is itself undergoing spectacular current growth, having moved into new offices in Ham Green near the M5 at Bristol early last year. Company turnover has risen to dramatically over the past 12 months from its 2022 figure of £55m, with details to be announced shortly.

Working with a vast network of suppliers across the UK, the company offers free delivery with a digitalised sales process which enables quick fulfilment of the customer’s fleet needs.

In the meantime, staff numbers have risen to 72 and the business completed sales on more than 5,000 vehicle sales last year.

Liam Nicholas, business development director at Vanaways said: “It’s been a pleasure getting to know Ben and the team at Trinity Surfacing and we’re delighted to be their vans partner as the company looks to grow.

“Not being tied to any dealership means we’re able to source the widest possible range of vehicles for any purpose. This welfare van for Trinity Surfacing will provide site teams with the facilities they need to do their job properly.

“We’d like to thank Victory Conversions for their help getting the vehicle ready in quick timescales – the customer is delighted with the speed of our service and our partnership with Victory has been crucial.”
