There is no question that electric vehicles are now incredibly capable. In fact, electric cars are now a common sight on our roads and so are electric vans. Over the past few years, more and more vans on our roads have become electric and they are incredibly efficient. This is, of course, good news for our planet as the threat of climate change becomes more and more real. While electric vehicles are not the cure for climate change, they can certainly play a big role in reducing our carbon emissions.

The rise in electric power has meant that over the past few years, there have been more and more electric vans popping up. It’s no secret that car manufacturers across the globe are in a race against time to cash in on this new era of transport. While this increase in development and vehicles has meant that the consumer has a plethora of options it can be a touch confusing at times. You may find it difficult to find the right van for you but don’t worry, that’s where we come in. We can help you figure out which van is right for you in this crowded market.

Vauxhall is one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and they have been building cars and vans for many years. Their reputation really is phenomenal, and they are known for building reliable and capable vehicles. The Movano-e is no different, and it really is a brilliant van if you’re looking to tap into the electric market for the first time. The same goes for the Volkswagen E-Crafter though. Volkswagen is world famous for its ability to build quality vehicles and the new E-Crafter really is a brilliant van. So, which of these is right for you? Keep reading this blog to find out!

Engines and Spec

Of course, both of these vans have incredibly modern and up-to-date technology. The electric motors in the two vehicles are both incredibly impressive and there is no doubt that some of the technology on display in these vans is incredibly modern. Both of their motors are phenomenally reliable and will certainly keep you on the roads for a long time before they need a service or check-up. This is of course an incredibly important aspect of a van as this vehicle will probably be your workhouse and have to withstand constant use. Though they do differ in a few areas so what are they and how will these differences affect your decision?

The Movano-e dropside boasts an impressive 90kW motor which produces a commendable 122hp and 260 NM of torque. All of this power means the Movano-e can reach speeds of over 70 mph. What’s more, the van is also capable of 139 miles in one charge which is a fairly competitive range for a large payload vehicle. So, what about Volkswagen?

Certainly, if it’s the speed you’re after then the Movano-e might be the van for you. While the e-Crafter is capable of speeds over 60mph it certainly doesn’t have the same kick that the Movano-e has. Still, the van has a reliable and well-thought-of electric motor and it will certainly last you a lifetime. One of the best things about the e-Crafter though is just how quickly it charges. You can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in just 45 minutes.

Interior

Naturally, the interiors of both of these vans are modern and highly adaptable as you would expect from two state-of-the-art vans. They are both filled with modern equipment and laden with storage capabilities. This means that they are both brilliant options if you need to use your vans for work purposes and commuting. Though how do the two models differ and is there anything that sets one of them apart?

In the Movano-e you’ll get a 5-inch touchscreen as your media player which is a fantastic modern touch to the van. Though in the e-Crafter you’ll have the option of heated seats, a heated windscreen and even an automatic air conditioning system.

The Verdict

One of the best things about both of these vans is that they are both incredibly cheap to run. Of course, charging the vehicle at one of the many electric charging stations in the UK is usually completely free. Then there is road tax, congestion charge, and low emissions zones from which you will be completely exempt. So, you really can save a huge amount of money in the long run with an electric van.

As for the payload, both of these vehicles have incredibly commendable statistics and you can rely on either of them to be able to carry a huge amount. The Movano-e has the most impressive statistics with a maximum payload of 2,100 kg.
