Vehicle Review – Nissan NV400 Vans

July 28th, 2021

Thinking about investing in a new van? There are plenty of options on the market, including the range of Nissan NV400 vans. These large commercial vans are available in panel or tipper versions and they’re the same van as the Renault Master / Vauxhall Movano, but with a different badge.

Nissan offers a five year warranty and breakdown cover on all NV400 vans, so read on to find out more about the different styles and benefits of choosing this van.

Van styles and performance

Whatever your requirements – there’s a Nissan NV400 to suit you. The Nissan NV400 is available in front or rear-wheel drive and there are four body lengths, four wheelbases, three roof heights and five engine outputs on offer.

As well as a standard panel van, Nissan offers a passenger-carrying crew van with two rows of seats or a crew bus that holds between six and nine people. Certain conversions are also available direct from dealers, including chassis cab, platform cab, crew cab, dropside, and tipper bodies.

The NV400 sits between the mid-sized Nissan NV300 and forward control Nissan NT400 Cabstar in the commercial vehicle range. These vans are powered by a 2.3 litre diesel engine, with five outputs ranging from 109bhp to 163bhp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, although there’s the option of a six-speed semi-automatic with the 148bhp engine.

The benefits

There are many reasons to invest in an NV400 van, so read on to find out more.

Low operating costs

The NV400 boasts low operating costs, plus a five-year or 100,000 miles warranty and longer service intervals. There are also two years or up to 25,000 miles between oil and filter changes, so it’s likely that you’ll pay less for general maintenance.

Spacious cabin

The NV400 cabin is smart, spacious, and streamlined thanks to the new uncluttered dashboard. There’s also plenty of storage for your convenience and an ergonomic design that puts everything close to hand.

A comfortable drive

A comfortable driving position is essential if you’re spending long hours on the road. Luckily, the NV400 is designed with comfort in mind and drivers can adjust the cushion tilt, lumbar support, and the headrest on the seat.

Greater angle of vision

The wide-view mirror on the passenger’s sun visor more than doubles the angle of vision on the far side of the van. This increases safety when reversing and reduces the driver’s blind spots.
