Luton Vans

A Luton van, otherwise known as a box van or box truck is a type of large LCV often used for transporting and hauling goods. Most manufacturers will offer ready-bodied Luton vans; however, they would have been built to certain specs including the type of chassis model (singular or crewcab).

An average Luton van is 3.5 tonnes and has a payload of 1300kg depending on the chassis type. With an average length of 6.7m and a height of 3.3m, it’s a great van for companies that transport heavy/bulky goods and materials. If you require additional height, you can opt for a hi-roof Luton van which on average can increase the overall height of the van by 1m.

Many Luton vans have an additional tail-lift installed to make lifting and loading heavy items in and out of it a dream. However, having a tail-lift installed can reduce the overall payload of the van by roughly 250kg which is something to consider before opting for this addition. If the payload of the vehicle is something which can’t be compromised, then it’s worth considering a low-loader Luton which has a lower loading height.
